About
A Lifelong Journey Through Art
My love of creating began somewhere around age six or seven, when I was building balsa wood model airplanes. From there, I moved on to sketching elaborate dream tree houses — intricate, imaginative worlds drawn from a young mind full of wonder. Despite being told that art was not a viable path, the creative impulse never left me.
Over the years I explored many mediums: pen and ink, watercolor, wood sculpture, carved gourds, and sculpted furniture — with a deep immersion in the elegance of Art Deco. Eventually, life led me into the construction trades, where I spent over twenty years as a General Contractor building custom homes. But art found its way back in, as it always does. I launched an artistic custom furniture and woodworking business, spending another couple of decades crafting beauty in wood.
Then, once again, I picked up my brushes — this time making the deliberate choice to paint in oils.
Recently, my wife and I made a cross-country move to be closer to family, and with that came a fresh start for my painting career. I see it not as beginning again, but as continuing a lifelong conversation with beauty.
Beauty is what drives me. The shimmer of light on water, the quiet dignity of a tree, the drama of a seascape, the delicate complexity of a flower up close — there is so much beauty in this world, and I am committed to witnessing as much of it as I can, and sharing what I find on the canvas.
Thank you for being part of this journey.
